Choosing the right composite door style.
1. Match the era of the property
Victorian and Edwardian terraces belong with traditional six-panel or Victorian glazed doors. Post-2000 new-builds suit modern flush or full-glazed. Granite cottages call for cottage or stable styles. A door that reads as native to the property adds value — one that reads as bolted-on can subtract it.
2. Balance daylight vs privacy
North-facing frontages and long hallways benefit from glazed or half-glazed styles. Street-fronting terraces usually want obscured or sandblasted glass. Full-glazed doors work best where a garden, porch or storm door provides a second layer of privacy.
3. Pick colours after style
Heritage colours (Chartwell Green, French Navy, deep reds) suit traditional, Victorian, cottage and heritage styles. Anthracite, slate grey and matte black suit modern, flush and contemporary. See our colour library once you've locked the style.
