White is still the most requested composite door finish in Cornwall, and for good reason: it sits comfortably against render, granite, painted stone and modern brick without competing with anything. On a smooth-moulded composite skin the white reads crisp rather than plasticky, which is where it differs from an older uPVC door.
The practical case for white is light. Cornish porches and hallways are often narrow and north-facing, and a white door with a glazed panel throws far more daylight into the entrance than a dark finish.
