What makes a quality composite door installation?
A composite door is only as good as the frame it sits in and the seal around it. A quality install starts with an accurate site survey — measuring the aperture, checking the wall build-up, and confirming which way the door needs to open.
On installation day, the old frame is removed cleanly, the new frame is packed and levelled, and the door is hung, adjusted and tested before the fitters leave. Silicone beading and expanding tape create a weather-tight seal, and the internal reveal is finished neatly.
Why does installation matter more than the door itself? Because a premium composite door installed badly will leak air, drop on its hinges within 12 months and lose its PAS24 rating. A mid-range door installed properly will outperform it every time.
