Modern composite doors.

Modern composite door installations across Cornwall — real jobs, not stock photography.

Our modern gallery covers the flush, clean-lined composite doors we fit on new-builds and recently rendered homes right across Cornwall, from Truro's newer estates to the coastal developments around Newquay. These are doors chosen for a smooth, uninterrupted surface, minimal detailing and a colour palette dominated by anthracite grey, black and white.

Modern doesn't mean plain glass and no character — most of the installs here still carry a full-length vision panel in frosted or satin glass, just without the panel mouldings or bevelled glazing that would read as traditional.

What makes a door read as 'modern'

It's less about colour and more about surface: a flush or lightly grooved GRP skin without raised panel mouldings, paired with a slim bar handle rather than a knocker and letterplate, and glazing set into a single clean vision panel rather than a leaded or multi-pane arrangement. Anthracite grey is the most common choice because it matches the window frames fitted on most Cornish new-builds since the mid-2010s.

Where these doors are being fitted

New-build estates around Truro, St Austell and Newquay account for most of the modern installs in this gallery, alongside older properties being brought up to date with a full render and window replacement. In coastal spots the flush profile is fitted with the same marine-grade hardware as every other style, since a smooth surface shows salt film just as readily as a moulded one.
