Black composite doors.

Black composite door installations across Cornwall — real jobs, not stock photography.

This gallery is filtered to black composite doors specifically, spanning everything from a classic Georgian six-panel door with brass furniture in Truro to a sharp, flush contemporary black door with a bar handle in Penzance. Black has grown faster than any other colour in our fitting schedule over the last few years.

It's a genuinely versatile colour — the same black finish reads as heritage on a period townhouse and as sharply modern on a flush new-build door, which is why it appears across both the traditional and modern categories as well as here.

Why black works on both period and modern fronts

Black has no undertone competing with the property around it — unlike anthracite, which carries a blue-grey cast, black reads as true black against both white render and grey granite. That neutrality is what lets it sit comfortably on a Victorian terrace with brass hardware and on a flush modern door with chrome in equal measure.

Keeping a black door looking sharp near the coast

Black shows dried salt film and water spotting more visibly than any other finish in the range, simply because there's more contrast between the dark surface and pale mineral residue. A rinse every few weeks on coastal properties keeps it looking as crisp as the day it was fitted, and the finish carries a 10-year colour-fastness guarantee against fading.
