Before & After composite doors.

Before & After composite door installations across Cornwall — real jobs, not stock photography.

This category pairs the tired, draughty original doors we removed with the composite replacement fitted in their place — a straight comparison rather than styled photography, covering everything from a warped timber door in Truro to a discoloured 1990s uPVC door in St Austell.

It's the gallery we point most hesitant customers to, because it shows realistically what a replacement changes: not just colour, but sightlines, glazing clarity and how square the door sits in its frame.

What typically prompts a replacement

The originals shown here were replaced for a mix of reasons — swollen or rotting timber that no longer closed properly, yellowed or crazed early uPVC, and doors that were simply cold and draughty compared with a modern insulated core. In most cases the frame opening stayed the same; only the leaf and sometimes the frame profile changed.

What actually changes in the transformation

Beyond the obvious colour and style change, most before-and-afters here show a noticeably squarer, better-sealed fit against the frame, clearer glazing where the old unit had gone cloudy or discoloured, and modern hardware replacing worn or mismatched fittings — differences that matter more day to day than the colour choice itself.
