Endurance stable doors · Cornwall

Endurance Stable Doors — split-opening composite for Cornish farmhouses, cottages and holiday lets.

An Endurance stable door gives you all the character of a traditional split-opening farmhouse door — leave the top open for ventilation while the bottom stays closed — combined with the security, insulation and maintenance-free finish of a modern composite doorset. Every stable door we fit uses the same 48mm 17-layer engineered timber core, ABS Ultimate 3-Star cylinder and 10-year Endurance guarantee as our standard front doors.

How an Endurance stable door works.

The door is split into two independently-hung leaves at the midrail, roughly 45% top and 55% bottom. Each leaf has its own multipoint locking mechanism. When closed and locked, an EPDM compression seal at the midrail creates a continuous weather barrier so the door performs like a single sealed unit. When you open the top leaf on its own, a shoot-bolt keeps the bottom locked and immobile — brilliant for keeping toddlers, dogs or livestock inside while airing the room.

Where Endurance stable doors work best in Cornwall.

They're most-installed on back doors and kitchen doors of farmhouses, converted barns, character cottages and holiday lets across Cornwall — particularly in villages inland (the Roseland, the Lizard, moorland communities around Bodmin, and the Camel Trail towns) and on high-turnover Airbnb properties along the north and south coasts. The split-open charm sells beautifully in listings and photographs.

Style and colour options.

Stable doors are available in Endurance's Classic (4-panel or panelled with glass upper) and Country (plank-effect) ranges. The full core colour palette applies — see our Endurance colour guide. Chartwell Green, Green, Cream, Duck Egg and Golden Oak are particularly popular for stable configurations on Cornish farmhouses.

Security spec.

Full Endurance security spec applies — PAS24:2016 doorset test, ABS Ultimate 3-Star cylinder on the lower leaf, multipoint locking on both leaves, laminated inner glass on any glazed panel. Insurance approval is identical to a standard front door.
