Endurance door security · Cornwall

Endurance Door Security — PAS24, ABS 3-Star, insurance-approved as standard.

Every Endurance doorset we fit in Cornwall leaves the factory with a security spec that satisfies UK insurer requirements, Building Regs Approved Document Q, and Secured by Design — with no add-ons or upgrades. The combination of a 48mm solid timber core, PAS24:2016 doorset test, ABS Ultimate 3-Star cylinder, laminated glass and steel-reinforced frame keeps makes it one of the toughest residential entrance doors on the UK market.

The security spec

What comes as standard on every Endurance door we fit.

ABS Ultimate 3-Star cylinder

Fitted as standard. Simultaneously certified to TS007 3-star, Sold Secure Diamond and Secured by Design — resists snapping, bumping, picking and drilling.

PAS24:2016 doorset test

Every Endurance doorset is factory-tested for physical attack resistance including manipulation, impact and mechanical loading — the standard UK insurers require.

Multipoint locking

Yale or Winkhaus mechanism with hook bolts, deadbolt and roller cams firing simultaneously into steel-reinforced frame keeps.

Laminated inner glass

Every glazed panel uses a laminated inner pane — even if the outer pane is smashed, the laminate holds together, preventing the through-glass "reach and turn" attack.

Steel-reinforced frame

Galvanised steel keeps at every locking point — an intruder can't kick the keeps out of the outer frame the way they can with cheap uPVC doorsets.

Building Regs Approved Document Q

Meets the physical security requirement for new-build entrance doors — no upgrades needed to satisfy Part Q.

Why lock snapping matters — and how Endurance defeats it.

Around 25% of all UK burglaries where the front door is targeted use "lock snapping" — the intruder grips the exposed cylinder body with pliers or a snapper tool and cracks it at its weakest point, giving direct access to the cam and unlocking the door in seconds. Older uPVC doors with unbranded euro cylinders are the primary victims. A 3-star cylinder like the ABS Ultimate fitted standard on Endurance has a sacrificial break-line that shears without exposing the cam, and hardened anti-drill and anti-pick pins throughout. Independent Sold Secure Diamond testing subjects the cylinder to 5 minutes of concerted attack — the ABS resists.

Insurance and Endurance doors.

Every mainstream UK insurer accepts a PAS24 doorset with a 3-star cylinder as meeting their physical security requirement. If your policy asks about "British Standard locks" or "5-lever mortice locks", the Endurance combination is at least equivalent, usually stronger. Ask us at survey for the PAS24 and cylinder certification — we hand it over on install so you have paper evidence for any future claim.

Smart-lock ready.

If you'd like keypad or app-based entry, Endurance is compatible with Yale Conexis L2 and Ultion Nuki. We can factory-fit at order or retrofit later. Smart cylinders retain the 3-star certification, so security is not compromised.
