Endurance Walton composite door

The Walton is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 14% of the face is glazed across 9 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

Walton sits in the half-glazed section of the Endurance range, with 14% of the face glazed across 9 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a mid-sized run like this balances daylight against privacy. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 9-aperture layout is what gives the Walton its particular rhythm on the door face.

It is a design that rewards a proper site visit: photographs flatten the glazing, but in person the Walton has a depth to its lines that suits coastal towns particularly well.

Where the Walton looks right

At 14% glazed, the Walton is neither a bright, glass-dominant design nor a fully private one — it occupies the middle ground that suits coastal towns. We would point a customer with a dark, narrow hall in Mousehole towards this design over a solid panel, and towards it over a full-glazed design if they have young children or simply prefer not to be visible from the street when answering the door. Whatever the property type, every Walton we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.

Colours that flatter the Walton's panel layout

The Walton's 9-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Duck Egg, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Slate Grey is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the half-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Chartwell Green gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own limewashed render; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. If you're unsure between two finishes, our configurator lets you preview the Walton in each of the 21 colours before you commit to a survey.

Glass designs and hardware for the Walton

In the Walton's apertures, obscure glass such as Elegance keeps the hallway private while still passing daylight, and is what we fit as standard unless a customer asks otherwise. Diamond is the better choice where the door faces a garden or a quiet lane rather than the street, since more of the pattern reads as clear. Hardware-wise, a chrome or satin handle set suits the 9-aperture rhythm on a more contemporary elevation, while pewter or black points it towards period streets in Mousehole. Lead time on the Walton is the same as the rest of the range — typically four to six weeks from survey to fit, whatever glass and hardware combination you choose.
