The Urner is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 4% of the face is glazed across 5 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.
Cornwall Composite Doors fits the Urner more often than most of the part-glazed range, with 4% of the face glazed across 5 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a small run of apertures like this lets light reach a hallway without turning the door into a window. Matching the Urner to your property type
The 5-aperture layout on the Urner was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for side entrances, and we fit it regularly on streets in St Austell where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against limewashed render it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. As with every Endurance design, the Urner is backed by the 10-year manufacturer guarantee covering the core, the hardware and the colour finish, regardless of which property type it's fitted to.
Getting the colour right on the Urner
The Urner's 5-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Quartz Grey, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Claystone is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the part-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Sage gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own limewashed render; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Woodgrain finishes such as Golden Oak and Irish Oak are available on the Urner as well as the flat colours, and tend to suit this panel shape particularly well on older properties.
Glass designs and hardware for the Urner
We would default the Urner to an obscure design such as Prairie across all 5 apertures if the door opens straight onto a pavement, and offer Florida as the upgrade where more visibility through the glass is welcome — a rear garden door, for instance, or a porch that already screens the view. On hardware, this panel layout carries a slim lever handle well; a bulkier traditional set can look slightly out of scale against apertures this size. Multi-point locking and a 3-star anti-snap cylinder are fitted as standard regardless of glass or colour choice, so the security specification doesn't change whichever route you take with the Urner.
