Endurance Stanley composite door

The Stanley is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 1% of the face is glazed across 1 aperture, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

The Stanley is one of the part-glazed designs in the Endurance single-door library, with 1% of the face glazed across 1 separate aperture. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a small run of apertures like this lets light reach a hallway without turning the door into a window. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 1-aperture layout is what gives the Stanley its particular rhythm on the door face.

What sets the Stanley apart on the doorstep is proportion rather than gimmick — the panel lines and glazing are sized so the door reads correctly from the pavement and not just up close. It has become a regular recommendation for front doors on busy streets.

This is a part glazed design. Anthracite Grey delivers architectural impact and reads sharp against brickwork, render, granite and slate across Cornwall.

Fitted by our own CERTASS-registered installers right across Cornwall — Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Penzance, St Austell, Bodmin, Camborne, Redruth and every village between.

Where the Stanley looks right

The 1-aperture layout on the Stanley was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for privacy with light, and we fit it regularly on streets in Wadebridge where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against limewashed render it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. Whatever the property type, every Stanley we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.

Which of the 21 Endurance colours suit the Stanley

The Stanley's 1-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in White Foiled, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Brilliant Blue is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the part-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Slate Grey gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own limewashed render; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Woodgrain finishes such as Golden Oak and Irish Oak are available on the Stanley as well as the flat colours, and tend to suit this panel shape particularly well on older properties.

Hardware and glass options for the Stanley

In the Stanley's apertures, obscure glass such as Mayfair keeps the hallway private while still passing daylight, and is what we fit as standard unless a customer asks otherwise. Elegance is the better choice where the door faces a garden or a quiet lane rather than the street, since more of the pattern reads as clear. Hardware-wise, a chrome or satin handle set suits the 1-aperture rhythm on a more contemporary elevation, while pewter or black points it towards period streets in Wadebridge. Our CERTASS-registered fitters install the Stanley in a single day in almost every case, including full disposal of the old door and frame.
