Which Cornish properties suit the Scafell
At 22% glazed, the Scafell is neither a bright, glass-dominant design nor a fully private one — it occupies the middle ground that suits modern new builds. We would point a customer with a dark, narrow hall in Camborne towards this design over a solid panel, and towards it over a full-glazed design if they have young children or simply prefer not to be visible from the street when answering the door. Whatever the property type, every Scafell we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.
Finishing the Scafell in the right shade
The Scafell's 5-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Duck Egg, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Pearl Grey is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the full-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Schwarz Braun Black gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own cob; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Dual-colour finishing — a different shade inside and out — is available on the Scafell at no extra cost, which is worth considering if the hallway decor doesn't match the exterior palette you want.
