Where the Pentland looks right
The 9-aperture layout on the Pentland was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for dark hallways, and we fit it regularly on streets in Falmouth where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against pale render it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. Whatever the property type, every Pentland we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.
Getting the colour right on the Pentland
The Pentland's 9-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Sage, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Golden Oak is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the half-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Grey gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own pale render; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Glass designs and hardware for the Pentland
We would default the Pentland to an obscure design such as Glacier across all 9 apertures if the door opens straight onto a pavement, and offer Neo as the upgrade where more visibility through the glass is welcome — a rear garden door, for instance, or a porch that already screens the view. On hardware, this panel layout carries a slim lever handle well; a bulkier traditional set can look slightly out of scale against apertures this size. Lead time on the Pentland is the same as the rest of the range — typically four to six weeks from survey to fit, whatever glass and hardware combination you choose.
