Endurance Pelmo composite door

The Pelmo is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 24% of the face is glazed across 3 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

The Pelmo is one of the full-glazed designs in the Endurance single-door library, with 24% of the face glazed across 3 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a run this generous is built for hallways that need genuine daylight, not just a glimpse of the porch. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 3-aperture layout is what gives the Pelmo its particular rhythm on the door face.

What sets the Pelmo apart on the doorstep is proportion rather than gimmick — the panel lines and glazing are sized so the door reads correctly from the pavement and not just up close. It has become a regular recommendation for open-plan hallways.

This is a full glazed design. Anthracite Grey delivers architectural impact and reads sharp against brickwork, render, granite and slate across Cornwall.

Fitted by our own CERTASS-registered installers right across Cornwall — Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Penzance, St Austell, Bodmin, Camborne, Redruth and every village between.

Where the Pelmo looks right

With 24% of the face glazed across 3 apertures, the Pelmo sits comfortably on maximum daylight — the glazing is proportioned to lift a hallway without turning the entrance into a shop window. On a pale render elevation the panel lines read as intentional rather than decorative, which matters on the terraced streets around Bodmin and Wadebridge where every door on the row is visible from the pavement. If your hallway is genuinely dark, this is one of the better-lit options in the full-glazed category without stepping up to a full-glass design. Whatever the property type, every Pelmo we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.

Which of the 21 Endurance colours suit the Pelmo

The Pelmo's 3-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in White Foiled, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Black is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the full-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Pearl Grey gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own pale render; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. If you're unsure between two finishes, our configurator lets you preview the Pelmo in each of the 21 colours before you commit to a survey.

Finishing touches on the Pelmo

Kensington is the glass design most customers choose for the Pelmo's apertures, since it obscures the view through without darkening the hallway the way a heavily patterned glass can. Regency is worth considering if the door sits under a porch roof, where privacy is already handled by the structure and a clearer glass lets more light through. Pair either with a handle finish that matches your existing window furniture so the whole frontage reads as one decision rather than several. Lead time on the Pelmo is the same as the rest of the range — typically four to six weeks from survey to fit, whatever glass and hardware combination you choose.
