The Malvern is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 6% of the face is glazed across 2 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

Where the Malvern looks right
The 2-aperture layout on the Malvern was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for privacy with light, and we fit it regularly on streets in Newquay where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against cob it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. Whatever the property type, every Malvern we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.
Getting the colour right on the Malvern
The Malvern's 2-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in French Navy, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Duck Egg is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the part-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Rich Red gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own cob; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Dual-colour finishing — a different shade inside and out — is available on the Malvern at no extra cost, which is worth considering if the hallway decor doesn't match the exterior palette you want.
Glass designs and hardware for the Malvern

Florida is the better choice where the door faces a garden or a quiet lane rather than the street, since more of the pattern reads as clear. Hardware-wise, a chrome or satin handle set suits the 2-aperture rhythm on a more contemporary elevation, while pewter or black points it towards period streets in Newquay.
