Endurance Kyo composite door

The Kyo is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 10% of the face is glazed across 4 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

The Endurance Kyo is a half-glazed door built around 4 glazed apertures, with 10% of the face glazed across 4 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a mid-sized run like this balances daylight against privacy. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 4-aperture layout is what gives the Kyo its particular rhythm on the door face.

What sets the Kyo apart on the doorstep is proportion rather than gimmick — the panel lines and glazing are sized so the door reads correctly from the pavement and not just up close. It has become a regular recommendation for balanced light and privacy.

This is a half glazed design. Anthracite Grey delivers architectural impact and reads sharp against brickwork, render, granite and slate across Cornwall.

Fitted by our own CERTASS-registered installers right across Cornwall — Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Penzance, St Austell, Bodmin, Camborne, Redruth and every village between.

Matching the Kyo to your property type

With 10% of the face glazed across 4 apertures, the Kyo sits comfortably on victorian terraces — the glazing is proportioned to lift a hallway without turning the entrance into a shop window. On a reclaimed brick elevation the panel lines read as intentional rather than decorative, which matters on the terraced streets around Padstow and St Ives where every door on the row is visible from the pavement. If your hallway is genuinely dark, this is one of the better-lit options in the half-glazed category without stepping up to a full-glass design. We would always recommend seeing the Kyo against a working sample of your chosen colour before ordering, since the panel's proportions change how a colour reads compared with a plainer design.

Finishing the Kyo in the right shade

The Kyo's 4-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Cream, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Rich Red is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the half-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Brilliant Blue gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own reclaimed brick; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Woodgrain finishes such as Golden Oak and Irish Oak are available on the Kyo as well as the flat colours, and tend to suit this panel shape particularly well on older properties.

Glass designs and hardware for the Kyo

We would default the Kyo to an obscure design such as Kensington across all 4 apertures if the door opens straight onto a pavement, and offer Diamond as the upgrade where more visibility through the glass is welcome — a rear garden door, for instance, or a porch that already screens the view. On hardware, this panel layout carries a slim lever handle well; a bulkier traditional set can look slightly out of scale against apertures this size. Lead time on the Kyo is the same as the rest of the range — typically four to six weeks from survey to fit, whatever glass and hardware combination you choose.
