Endurance Knott composite door

The Knott is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 1% of the face is glazed across 2 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

Knott sits in the part-glazed section of the Endurance range, with 1% of the face glazed across 2 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a small run of apertures like this lets light reach a hallway without turning the door into a window. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 2-aperture layout is what gives the Knott its particular rhythm on the door face.

It is a design that rewards a proper site visit: photographs flatten the glazing, but in person the Knott has a depth to its lines that suits side entrances particularly well.

This is a part glazed design. Anthracite Grey delivers architectural impact and reads sharp against brickwork, render, granite and slate across Cornwall.

Fitted by our own CERTASS-registered installers right across Cornwall — Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, Penzance, St Austell, Bodmin, Camborne, Redruth and every village between.

Where the Knott looks right

At 1% glazed, the Knott is neither a bright, glass-dominant design nor a fully private one — it occupies the middle ground that suits side entrances. We would point a customer with a dark, narrow hall in Fowey towards this design over a solid panel, and towards it over a full-glazed design if they have young children or simply prefer not to be visible from the street when answering the door. We would always recommend seeing the Knott against a working sample of your chosen colour before ordering, since the panel's proportions change how a colour reads compared with a plainer design.

Colours that flatter the Knott's panel layout

The Knott's 2-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Golden Oak, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Sage is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the part-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Chartwell Green gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own granite; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Dual-colour finishing — a different shade inside and out — is available on the Knott at no extra cost, which is worth considering if the hallway decor doesn't match the exterior palette you want.

Hardware and glass options for the Knott

Kensington is the glass design most customers choose for the Knott's apertures, since it obscures the view through without darkening the hallway the way a heavily patterned glass can. Elegance is worth considering if the door sits under a porch roof, where privacy is already handled by the structure and a clearer glass lets more light through. Pair either with a handle finish that matches your existing window furniture so the whole frontage reads as one decision rather than several. Our CERTASS-registered fitters install the Knott in a single day in almost every case, including full disposal of the old door and frame.
