The Kentmere is built on Endurance's 48mm solid engineered-timber core, so it stays rigid in Cornish wind and driving rain rather than flexing like a foam-filled slab. Roughly 8% of the face is glazed across 6 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.
The Endurance Kentmere is a half-glazed door built around 6 glazed apertures, with 8% of the face glazed across 6 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a small run of apertures like this lets light reach a hallway without turning the door into a window. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 6-aperture layout is what gives the Kentmere its particular rhythm on the door face.
On site, the Kentmere tends to get chosen for the same reason twice over: it suits victorian terraces, and the half-glazed layout gives homeowners exactly the balance of light and privacy they were describing before they'd seen a single sample.

Matching the Kentmere to your property type
The 6-aperture layout on the Kentmere was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for porch replacements, and we fit it regularly on streets in Helston where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against reclaimed brick it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. Whatever the property type, every Kentmere we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.
Finishing the Kentmere in the right shade
The Kentmere's 6-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in White, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Golden Oak is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the half-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Grey gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own reclaimed brick; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Woodgrain finishes such as Golden Oak and Irish Oak are available on the Kentmere as well as the flat colours, and tend to suit this panel shape particularly well on older properties.
Finishing touches on the Kentmere
We would default the Kentmere to an obscure design such as Cotswold across all 6 apertures if the door opens straight onto a pavement, and offer Glacier as the upgrade where more visibility through the glass is welcome — a rear garden door, for instance, or a porch that already screens the view. On hardware, this panel layout carries a slim lever handle well; a bulkier traditional set can look slightly out of scale against apertures this size. Multi-point locking and a 3-star anti-snap cylinder are fitted as standard regardless of glass or colour choice, so the security specification doesn't change whichever route you take with the Kentmere.
