Roughly 8% of the face is glazed across 6 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.

Where the Eldon looks right
The 6-aperture layout on the Eldon was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for coastal towns, and we fit it regularly on streets in St Ives where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against slate it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. Whatever the property type, every Eldon we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.
Colours that flatter the Eldon's panel layout
The Eldon's 6-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Sage, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. French Navy is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the half-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Irish Oak gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own slate; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Woodgrain finishes such as Golden Oak and Irish Oak are available on the Eldon as well as the flat colours, and tend to suit this panel shape particularly well on older properties.
Getting the glazing and hardware right
Regency is the glass design most customers choose for the Eldon's apertures, since it obscures the view through without darkening the hallway the way a heavily patterned glass can. Elegance is worth considering if the door sits under a porch roof, where privacy is already handled by the structure and a clearer glass lets more light through. Pair either with a handle finish that matches your existing window furniture so the whole frontage reads as one decision rather than several. Multi-point locking and a 3-star anti-snap cylinder are fitted as standard regardless of glass or colour choice, so the security specification doesn't change whichever route you take with the Eldon.
