Reading the Elbrus's proportions on a real frontage
The 11-aperture layout on the Elbrus was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for bright entrance halls, and we fit it regularly on streets in Truro where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against slate it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. We would always recommend seeing the Elbrus against a working sample of your chosen colour before ordering, since the panel's proportions change how a colour reads compared with a plainer design.
Finishing the Elbrus in the right shade
The Elbrus's 11-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Schwarz Braun Black, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Chartwell Green is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the full-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Quartz Grey gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own slate; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Dual-colour finishing — a different shade inside and out — is available on the Elbrus at no extra cost, which is worth considering if the hallway decor doesn't match the exterior palette you want.
Finishing touches on the Elbrus
In the Elbrus's apertures, obscure glass such as Elegance keeps the hallway private while still passing daylight, and is what we fit as standard unless a customer asks otherwise. Harmony is the better choice where the door faces a garden or a quiet lane rather than the street, since more of the pattern reads as clear. Hardware-wise, a chrome or satin handle set suits the 11-aperture rhythm on a more contemporary elevation, while pewter or black points it towards period streets in Truro.
