Roughly 23% of the face is glazed across 8 apertures, and every unit is fitted with toughened, argon-filled double glazing as standard. Supplied and installed across Cornwall by our own CERTASS-registered fitters, finished in any of the 20 Endurance colours shown on this page.
The Endurance Cheviot is a full-glazed door built around 8 glazed apertures, with 23% of the face glazed across 8 separate apertures. That proportion of glass is deliberate rather than decorative: a run this generous is built for hallways that need genuine daylight, not just a glimpse of the porch. Every unit is toughened and argon-filled as standard, and the 8-aperture layout is what gives the Cheviot its particular rhythm on the door face.
The name nods to the Cheviot Hills, and — whether or not that heritage was intentional in the naming — the Cheviot has the presence to carry it: it reads as a considered, slightly more architectural design than Endurance's plainer numbered panels. We fit it across Cornwall on modern new builds and it has become one of our better-liked full-glazed styles for exactly that reason.

Reading the Cheviot's proportions on a real frontage
The 8-aperture layout on the Cheviot was clearly drawn for a specific kind of hallway: one that needs a defined amount of daylight rather than either none or all of it. That makes it a strong fit for maximum daylight, and we fit it regularly on streets in Fowey where the original Victorian doors would have carried a similar glazed proportion before they were replaced with plain uPVC decades ago. Against granite it holds its own without needing a bold colour to do the work. As with every Endurance design, the Cheviot is backed by the 10-year manufacturer guarantee covering the core, the hardware and the colour finish, regardless of which property type it's fitted to.
Colours that flatter the Cheviot's panel layout
The Cheviot's 8-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Schwarz Braun Black, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. White is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the full-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Green gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own granite; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Woodgrain finishes such as Golden Oak and Irish Oak are available on the Cheviot as well as the flat colours, and tend to suit this panel shape particularly well on older properties.
Getting the glazing and hardware right
We would default the Cheviot to an obscure design such as Diamond across all 8 apertures if the door opens straight onto a pavement, and offer Elegance as the upgrade where more visibility through the glass is welcome — a rear garden door, for instance, or a porch that already screens the view. On hardware, this panel layout carries a slim lever handle well; a bulkier traditional set can look slightly out of scale against apertures this size. Our CERTASS-registered fitters install the Cheviot in a single day in almost every case, including full disposal of the old door and frame.
