The name nods to a Welsh mountain range, and — whether or not that heritage was intentional in the naming — the Berwyn has the presence to carry it: it reads as a considered, slightly more architectural design than Endurance's plainer numbered panels. On a limewashed render elevation the panel lines read as intentional rather than decorative, which matters on the terraced streets around Newquay and Fowey where every door on the row is visible from the pavement. If your hallway is genuinely dark, this is one of the better-lit options in the full-glazed category without stepping up to a full-glass design. Whatever the property type, every Berwyn we quote is measured and templated on site rather than to a standard size, so the panel and glazing proportions shown here translate exactly to the finished door.
Colours that flatter the Berwyn's panel layout
The Berwyn's 8-aperture glazing pattern photographs well in Rich Red, where the frame lines around the glass stay crisp rather than disappearing into the panel colour. Chartwell Green is the other finish we would put in front of a customer choosing this design — it is muted enough that the glazing, not the door colour, is the first thing you notice on the full-glazed face. For a bolder frontage, Golden Oak gives the same proportions a completely different character without changing the layout at all. Whichever you choose, ask to see a physical sample against your own limewashed render; screens flatten differences that are obvious in daylight. Dual-colour finishing — a different shade inside and out — is available on the Berwyn at no extra cost, which is worth considering if the hallway decor doesn't match the exterior palette you want.
Getting the glazing and hardware right
We would default the Berwyn to an obscure design such as Jewel across all 8 apertures if the door opens straight onto a pavement, and offer Oxford as the upgrade where more visibility through the glass is welcome — a rear garden door, for instance, or a porch that already screens the view. On hardware, this panel layout carries a slim lever handle well; a bulkier traditional set can look slightly out of scale against apertures this size.
