Endurance doors · Coastal Cornwall
Endurance Doors for the Cornish Coast — marine-grade as standard.
If your Cornwall property sits within three miles of the coast, salt air is the single biggest enemy of a front door. Standard zinc-plated hinges bloom within 18 months. Painted timber peels. Aluminium chalks and pits. Endurance's GRP skin is inherently immune — but we go further, upgrading every metal component to A4 marine-grade stainless steel so nothing on the door needs replacing for the full 10-year guarantee.

What we change on every coastal Endurance install.
A4 marine-grade stainless hinges
316-grade stainless steel — pitted only by strong acid, not salt air. Standard zinc-plated hinges start blooming within 18 months on exposed coastal doors.
Stainless letterplate springs
Salt air kills the standard steel spring in a coastal letterplate inside 2–3 years. Stainless springs last the life of the door.
Stainless cylinder cams and fixings
Every screw and cam that touches outside air is upgraded — no rust bleed streaks running down your door face.
Stainless-cored handle sets
Handle-set fixings and the internal furniture core upgraded to stainless. Chrome handle plates hold their finish for a decade.
Enhanced weather seals
Additional low-level threshold seal for driving Atlantic rain — tested against the driving-rain rating that matters on exposed frontages.
GRP skin — inherently marine-safe
Glass-reinforced polyester is inert in salt air. It doesn't chalk in UV like painted aluminium, doesn't rot like timber, doesn't corrode like steel.

Why standard "composite" doors fail on the Cornish coast.
Most sub-£1,500 composite doors sold online use a foam-filled slab and unbranded zinc-plated hinges. In the salt-heavy, wet-then-dry cycle of coastal Cornwall, the hinges start pitting within 18 months and the doorset develops a rust weep that stains the frame. On foam-core doors the slab itself can flex under sustained wind load, gapping the seal and letting driving rain past. Endurance's 48mm solid engineered core doesn't flex, and our stainless hardware doesn't corrode — the two problems disappear together.
Guarantee — honoured on coastal installs.
Unlike some timber-door and painted-aluminium guarantees which explicitly exclude coastal properties or void themselves within a certain distance of salt water, Endurance's 10-year colour, slab and hardware guarantee applies in full to coastal Cornish installs. Our 10-year installation guarantee sits on top.
