Endurance back doors · Cornwall

Endurance Back Doors — the same 3-star security as the front, from £1,850 fitted.

Most home burglaries in the UK happen through a rear door, not a front door — because the back door is usually the weakest, least-upgraded entrance on the property. Every Endurance back door we fit in Cornwall uses exactly the same spec as an Endurance front door: 48mm 17-layer core, ABS Ultimate 3-Star cylinder, PAS24 doorset test, multipoint locking, laminated inner glass. No corners cut on the door round the back.

Why the back door matters more than most people think.

Home Office data consistently shows that where a residential burglary involves forced entry through a door, the rear door is targeted more often than the front. Two reasons: rear doors are usually screened from the street by fences or side returns, giving an intruder cover, and rear doors have historically been fitted with cheaper single-point or French-door hardware without the 3-star cylinder now standard on front doors. Upgrade the back door to Endurance spec and that vulnerability disappears.

Same door, half the cost as a pair.

An Endurance back door prices identically to a front door of the same size, style and glass — from £1,850 fully installed. When we fit a front and back door at the same visit we take £150–£250 off the combined price because we only mobilise the survey and fitting team once. Most of our Cornwall front-door customers upgrade the back at the same time for this reason.

Configurations that work as back doors.

Standard front-door styles all work as back doors, plus two configurations that are especially popular round the back: half-glazed doors that let daylight into a narrow utility or kitchen without compromising security, and stable doors for ventilation while keeping children or pets contained. Where the rear elevation is predominantly glazed, French doors or a full sliding patio door may be a better fit — we'll talk you through it at survey.

Coastal Cornwall back doors.

Back doors on coastal Cornish properties get the same marine-grade stainless upgrade as front doors — A4 stainless hinges, letterplate spring and cylinder cams, so nothing on the door corrodes in salt air.
