Start with the render or brick
Warm brick tolerates warm colours (Racing Green, Rosewood, Red). Cool render loves cool colours (Anthracite, Black, Duck Egg Blue).
Consider the light
South-facing doors take strong colour well. North-facing doors often look better in mid-tones like Chartwell Green or Anthracite Grey.
